Description
Dr. Samuel Hahnemann (1755 to 1843) was a German physicist who founded the practice of homeopathic medicine. In homeopathy, Dr. Hahnemann developed the technique of giving people drugs for their disease that would create the symptoms of their illness in people who did not have the disease. Homeopathy is based on the principle that you can treat "like with like", that is, a substance which causes symptoms when taken in large doses, can be used in small amounts to treat those same symptoms. This photograph is of the statue of Dr. Hahnemann at Scott Circle in Washington, D.C.
