Description
At "The Vietnam Women's Statue" there are three nurses who served in the war. One woman sits on the front side of the statue and has a wounded soldier stretched across her body, and to her left is a nurse looking skyward for a emergency rescue helicopter, and while searching the sky she keeps an understanding hand on the shoulder of the nurse who is tending to the wounded soldier. The fourth nurse sits behind the statue, and is kneeling on the ground with the soldier's helmet in her hand. She looks tired, dazed, and emotionally drained. This photograph focuses on the skyward looking nurse. There are several other photographs in my gallery of "The Vietnam Women's Statue" and its three women and soldier. The statue is one of three works that are part of the "Vietnam Veterans Memorial" in Washington, DC. The long "Memorial Walll" is the most famous part of the memorial. In addition to the women's statue, there is also "The Three Soldiers Statue" (also known as "The Three Servicemen Statue") that celebrates men who served as soldiers in the Vietnam War.
