Description
This sculpture depicts a man listening to one of President Roosevelt’s many fireside chats on the radio. Roosevelt used this means of communication throughout the tumultuous years of his presidency, which included both the Great Depression of the 1930s and World War II from 1939 to 1945. This sculpture is at the Franklin Delano Roosevelt Memorial in Washington, D.C. The memorial, which sprawls over seven and a half acres, is the largest presidential memorial on the National Mall.
