Description
I live in the Dupont Circle neighborhood of Washington, DC, which is known as an urban haven for gays and lesbians much like Greenwich Village in New York City and Castro Street in San Francisco. Throughout the Dupont Circle community there are a lot of Rainbow Flags, an emblem of LGBT unity and pride, flying on flag poles, both public and private, often with the American flag, or hanging from balconies or over the doors and windows of homes, and it seems there is a flag hanging from every lamp post in the neighborhood. The Rainbow Flag is also known as the Pride Flag, which is an appropriate name for the proud neighborhood I live in.
