Artist's Description
The Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) national headquarters is located on 17th Street near the White House in Washington, D.C. Constitution Hall, one of the largest concert halls in Washington, is part of the multi-block DAR complex. Renowned American architect John Russell Pope designed the building which opened in 1929. (Pope was the architect of the Jefferson Memorial, the National Gallery of Art, and the Freemasonry House of the Temple, also famous buildings in our nation's capital). This is a night photograph of the main entrance to the DAR headquarters on 17th Street.

I enjoy photography and writing, and sometimes think of myself as a photojournalist. If there is a story to be told with a photograph, I tell it. As a longtime resident of Washington, DC, a lot of my photographs are of this area, and I enjoy writing in the description something about the shot -- it could be a short statement about an equestrian statue in the middle of a park, or a more intimate tale of the mausoleum where Abraham Lincoln's son, Willie, was entombed for the remaining three years of Lincoln's presidency after the boy's death.
