Description

Eleanor Roosevelt, the wife of President Franklin Delano Roosevelt, was the longest serving First Lady of the United States, from January 1933 until her husband's death on April 12, 1945. After leaving the White House, she became one of the first delegates to the newly formed United Nations. This sculpture of Mrs. Roosevelt is at the Franklin Delano Roosevelt Memorial in Washington, D.C. At seven and a half acres, it is the largest presidential memorial on the National Mall.
