Artist's Description

"The Return of the Prodigal Son" was painted by Bartolome Esteban Murillo from 1667 to 1670. This "up close" photograph of the painting focuses on the father and son. A photograph of the full painting precedes this one in my gallery and can be seen by clicking on the above "PREV" (for "Previous"). The painting was photographed at the National Gallery of Art in Washington, D.C.
