Description
This sculpture of Venus washing her hair was made around 1575 by a follower of Giovanni Bologna, a renowned Italian sculptor of the time. This is a partial view of a larger sculpture named "Venus and Cupid", but in this shot I chose to focus on Venus and her hair, and not include Cupid clinging to the bottom part of her leg. When a photograph of the full sculpture has been taken, it will precede this one in my gallery, and when available can be accessed by clicking on the above "PREV" for "previous". The bronze sculpture was photographed at the National Gallery of Art in Washington, D.C.
