Description
This is the tomb of Robert Todd Lincoln, the eldest son of President Abraham Lincoln, and is located in Arlington National Cemetery. He followed in his father's footsteps and became an attorney and politician, but unlike his father, instead of serving as president he was Secretary of War under President James Garfield and President Chester A. Arthur. Lincoln died in 1926 at the age of 82, and is interred in this sarcophagus with his wife Mary and their son Jack (the sarcophagus was designed by American sculptor James Earle Fraser). Lincoln was the last survivor of the Garfield and Arthur Cabinets. It is interesting that he married a woman named Mary, the same first name as that of his troubled mother, Mary Todd Lincoln.
