Description
This famous sculpture of men standing in a food line during the Great Depression is a popular attraction at the Franklin Delano Roosevelt Memorial in Washington, D.C. President Roosevelt, who served three terms, was President during the Great Depression of the 1930s and World War II, which was from 1939 to 1945. There is a famous quote of Roosevelt's on the wall behind the men, it reads "The test of our progress is not whether we add more to the abundance of those who have much; it is whether we provide enough for those who have too little."
